- Terms & Conditions
1 Trainees must:
. Be able to ride a bicycle and have no mobility restrictions
. Be able to understand & communicate with the instructors in English
. Be appropriately dressed (see paragraph 10 below)
. Bring your National Insurance Number
. Bring glasses or contact lenses if normally worn for driving
. Bring on the day of training either:
▪ - a valid Provisional or Full U.K photo card Driving Licence (Old style Paper Licences will require a form of official Government photo I.D such as a Passport to be presented with it on the day of training) or,
▪ - a valid EU Driving Licence that has been registered with the DVLA. You must bring both the Licence and the Registration Document received from the DVLA showing your U.K Driving Licence Number
. for all CBT Renewal Courses, bring your most recent CBT Certificate even if it has expired, without which, you will not be allowed to attend the course. The CBT Certificate must still be in date or no more than 30 days past it's Date Of Expiry. If your CBT Certificate is more than 30 days past it's Date Of Expiry you will not be allowed to take this course.
. Ensure you have read and understand the current edition of the Highway Code
. Settle all course fees in full prior to training
. Provide us with all of the correct information in order for us to perform a pre check on your Driving Licence. This check must be complete before you attend your course. You will need to provide us with your U.K Driving Licence Number, National Insurance Number and the Post Code that appears on your U.K Driving Licence in order for us to perform this check. It is up to you to make sure that we are able to perform this check and you can check if your details are correct here: https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence
Trainees will not be able to participate in any course should they fail to bring the documents listed above, should they fail to meet any of the criteria listed above, should they fail to provide us with all of the correct information in order for us to perform a check on their Driving Licence which must be completed before their course starts or should they fail to meet any other terms listed above and their full course fee will be forfeited.
2 When training is undertaken on a Trainee's own vehicle, in respect of that vehicle Trainees must:
. Provide a Valid CBT Certificate (DL196) which must still be in date;
. Provide original proof of Motor Insurance;
. Provide a current, original M.O.T. certificate if the vehicle is more than three years old or V5C if it is less than three years old;
. Provide proof of valid road tax;
. Ensure L-plates of legal dimensions are fitted on both the front & rear of the motorcycle;
. Ensure the machine is roadworthy and in good working order
Trainees will not be permitted to use their own vehicle for any course should they fail to bring the documents listed above or should their vehicle not meet all of the criteria listed above and will therefore have to use a vehicle supplied by Plus Motorcycle Training, refusal of this will result in the termination of their course and their course fee will be forfeited.
3 All Trainees must arrive no later than the start time of their course.
4 All Trainees must aim to arrive 15 minutes earlier than your course start time to allow time for booking.
5 Lateness will count as a cancellation and will result in the full course fee being forfeited.
6 A minimum of 72 hours (3 clear working days) notice (not including Sunday's and all Public and Bank Holidays) is required to cancel or reschedule a CBT, CBT Renewal, Gear Conversion or I.T.M Course, without which the full course fee will be forfeited. If you have booked a course within this 72 hour notification period, you will not be able to cancel or reschedule your course.
7 A minimum of 1 weeks (7 clear working days) notice (not including Sunday's and all Public and Bank Holidays) from the start of your course in it's entirety is required to cancel or reschedule all Full Licence (A1, A2 or A) and Back to Bike Courses without which the full course fee will be forfeited. You are only allowed to reschedule your Full Licence (A1, A2 & A) or Back to Bike Course once. Lateness will also count as a cancellation and will result in the entire course fee being forfeited.
Should you fail any practical exam, the following fees will be applicable, MOD 1 £15.50 & or MOD 2 £75 plus £125 per exam (2 exams on the same day will equal £250 in school fees on top of the exams fees). If your exam(s) gets cancelled by the DVSA due to poor weather conditions, examiner illness, examiners on strike or any other reason, escort fees will also be applicable and are £125 per exam (2 exams on the same day will equal £250 in escort fees on top of the exams fees).
8 All cancellations or rescheduling requests for Full Licence and Back to Bike Courses notified in time will be subject to a 10% (of the full price of your course) administration fee.
9 Plus Motorcycle Training reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to adverse weather conditions, mechanical breakdown or staff illness. In the event that Plus Motorcycle Training cancels your course; your course will be rescheduled free of charge or your course fee will be refunded.
. Our customers safety is of paramount importance to us and therefore we reserve the right to cancel any course if Trainees are deemed inappropriately dressed for the course; in this event the Trainee will forfeit their course fee.
. Appropriate clothing: Substantial trousers/jeans (no shorts/skirts/jogging or tracksuit bottoms/jeans or trousers with holes), long sleeve substantial jumper, substantial boots or shoes with socks (no slip on/slip off footwear such as flip flops) and no footwear with steel toe caps or with holes in them.
11 CBT Trainees who do not, during off-road training, reach the required standard to go on the road ride will not be able to complete the course and will have to rebook. Rebooked CBTs will be charged at the standard rate and once booked in they can not be cancelled or rescheduled.
12 CBT Trainees who do not reach the required standard at the end of the course will not be permitted to ride home on their own vehicles and should arrange alternative transport for themselves and their machine at the end of the course.
. Trainees should note that they will be liable to pay for any damage to a training vehicle supplied by us up to a maximum of £500 in the case of mopeds, scooters/motorcycles of 125cc or below and up to a maximum of £1, 000 in all other cases unless they have purchased Damage Insurance Cover which is offered to every trainee upon booking. Damage Insurance Cover only covers you for damages to your training bike during your course, you will be liable to pay a maximum of £500 in the case of mopeds, scooters/motorcycles of 125cc or below and up to a maximum of £1, 000 in all other cases for any of our other bikes that you may damage during or after your course. If you do not purchase Damage Insurance Cover you will also be liable to pay the excess for any damages to any other vehicle(s) not belonging to Plus Motorcycle Training that you may damage during your course. Damage Insurance Cover must be purchased either upon booking your course or on any other day up to at least 24 hours before your course starts, it can not be purchased on the day of your course and will not be offered to you on the day of your course and any attempt to purchase Damage Insurance Cover within 24 hours of your course starting will be declined. Damage Insurance Cover does not cover you for damages to any of our equipment such as Helmets, gloves, Jackets and Radios. Should you damage our equipment you will be liable to pay for the replacement of the item(s) damaged. In the case of Helmets, Gloves & Jackets the replacements will cost £60 for each item damaged and in the case of Radios the replacements will cost £160 for each Radio damaged. Should you damage any of our equipment you will not be given your DL196 (CBT Certificate) until you have paid for the damaged item(s).
14 Plus Motorcycle Training cannot guarantee that your preferred choice of bike will be available on the day of your training.
15 You agree for your contact details to be shared with MCIAC (The Motorcycle Industry Accreditation Centre) for the purpose of our MCIAC Accreditation. You might receive a survey from the MCIAC to ask about your experience with us which will just take a few minutes to complete. Personal data collected will only be used for the purpose of the MCIAC Quality Assurance, it will not be shared with any 3rd parties.
16 Road Traffic Violations
Trainees in control of one of OUR motorcycles or scooters will take full responsibility for any violations to road traffic laws while riding on the public highway. Relevant details will be passed to the appropriate authorities if requested.
. Any inappropriate behaviour displayed by the Trainee whilst taking part in any training course provided by us could lead to the training being terminated and may also lead to the relevant authorities being notified
. Any abuse of Staff or other Trainees will not be tolerated on any level
. If we suspect alcohol or illegal substances have been used by the Trainee we will refuse to start the training or we will terminate the training course immediately. No refund will be provided
Please make your trainer aware if you are taking any medication or have any medical conditions that could affect your ability to ride a motorcycle/scooter before commencing your course.
19 Upon booking your course with us you are also agreeing to have your photo taken by your instructor to prove that you have attended a course with us. Your photo will be taken twice, once upon arrival at our site (with trainees holding their Driving Licences up) and a second time once you have completed the course (with trainees holding their DL196's up). These photos will not be shared with any 3rd party accept for Government Agencies, PayPal and Banks if need be. They will be kept on file to prove that you have attended a course with us. Refusal of this will result in your course being terminated and loss of your course fee in full, you will not receive any refund.
All trainees must show up fit, able and healthy on the day of training. If trainees show up to any course and are suffering from a contagious illness, they will be sent home and their course fee will be forfeited. Examples of such illnesses are; but not limited to: Measles, Pink Eye, Head Lice, Tuberculosis, Norovirus & MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus).
